Gayle Daubney

General Manager

I joined Bibby in May 2014 as Operations Manager for the Bulk Tankers. This role was focused on the transport operations at Worcester and Bridgwater. Towards the end of 2014 my role developed and I was then asked to take additional responsibility for the warehouse and tank wash operations. This site carries out a variety of operations for Cadburys and directly feeds the production lines at Bournville.

Since March 2015 I have taken on the role of General Manager for tankers. I now oversee the dedicated tanker operation at Corby for Roquette. For this operation we provide onsite shunting operations, and deliver a range of different products including glucose, starch and gluten.

I have really enjoyed my time at Bibby Distribution so far. I work with a really good team and have lots of interaction with our customers and suppliers. The variety of operational challenges and new initiatives mean that no day is the same. I have seen my role change in the short time I have been with the company so would recommend Bibby Distribution for the career and personal development opportunities.

LGV Class 1 Partington based driver on Saica Contract

I have worked for Bibby Distribution for approximately 9 months. What attracted me to the job was the competitive rates of pay, the added benefits such as private healthcare, full issue of company uniform and we are issued with a preferred truck which are less than 3 years old. Bibby are fully committed to Health and Safety. It is a family owned business but there is nothing too big or too small for them to successfully achieve. All office staff and drivers have a friendly atmosphere and we all work well together. The way the business is operate at local sites, helps it all runs as smooth as possible considering the industry. Bibby have their own training team, providing all job related training and additionally provide CPC training.

I had previous experience working with Bibby indirectly, so I knew how they operated before I became an employee. I accepted a job offer without hesitation, it is a nice friendly atmosphere with all the right training standards.

Phil Eastham

Distribution and Logistics

Phil joined Bibby in January 2015 and has brought with him over 20 years of distribution and logistics experience. Phil’s previous experience was gained with companies such as Iceland Frozen and Great Bear Distribution. Phil decided to join Bibby as the role he was successful for was closer to home, allowing him to spend more time with his family, he felt the salary and benefits package was very competitive and can see the career opportunities in Bibby to further his own career.

Alison O’Sullivan

Class 1 Driver

I started with Bibby as a Class 2 driver through a local agency in 2004. When I acquired my Class 1 licence on Christmas Eve in the same year, I applied for a full time position with Bibby Network and was accepted. I was later given the opportunity to sit an ADR test which I was successful in. A vacancy arose in the Tetrosyl contract at the depot which I applied for. I changed to this contract in 2006. During this time the depot was relocated and I moved with them. I took part in the CI projects and represented the depot at a presentation in Holmes Chapel which I enjoyed. I participated with this in our depot team assisting in various projects etc.

Earlier this year a vacancy at the depot was advertised for a class 1 driver with the Unipart Rail contract. Whilst I enjoy working at the depot I felt it was time for a bit of a change. I took up this position on 15th June 2015 after a trial period and assessment by the Driver Trainer Jimmy Ryan as I had not driven a class 1 vehicle for quite some time. Again I felt I was supported by the Depot and the driver trainer. I am enjoying my new role and have also enjoyed the various challenges I have experienced in my 10+ years with Bibby Distribution Glasgow.

Jon Cox

General Manager

Jon Joined Bibby in October 2003 as a transport planner. He has since been promoted to various roles over the past 12 years including transport supervisor, inventory controller, warehouse supervisor, warehouse manager, depot manager & recently has been promoted to general manager looking after 3 depots and approx 60 plus people.

Terry Hothersall

Non HGV Driver

Terry started with the company in March 1998 working as an hygiene operative on the Pulse Contract at Heywood Distribution Park – he then progressed to a warehouse operative in April 1999. He then furthered his knowledge and became a non HGV driver in July 2000 and then passed his Class 2 in 2002.

He is a very competent driver and loves what he does, never refuses what is expected of him.

His comments on why he enjoys working for Bibby:
It’s a good company to work for and a happy environment to work in.
