Class 1 Night Driver

Location: Wakefield

Salary: £28,500

We have an excellent opportunity within Bibby Distribution Limited based at our Wakefield Depot for a Class 1 Night Driver to become part of our operation, committed to providing a first class service to our customers. Working days will be Monday – Friday, with a varied start time from 20:00 to 22:00hrs, and salary of £28,500.

Please note this role is multi drop and is also a manual hands on role. Overnight deliveries to Mercedes Benz garages - sometimes including lock ups.

Scope and Purpose of the Role

To undertake delivery/collection of products on behalf of Bibby Distribution Limited (BDL) and its customers. Driving company vehicles to agreed standards and following all Health & Safety (H&S) requirements. Ensuring all driving regulations and other compliance standards are maintained and to drive safely and efficiently whilst adhering to the Highway Code guidelines and the Road Traffic Act

Key Duties & Accountabilities (will include but are not limited to)

·To ensure that all company Health & Safety policies are adhered to by you and others at all times.

·Ensure all aspects safety, personal hygiene and customer site rules are adhered to.

·Be responsible for the security of any products carried whilst in transit and ensure that the returned goods process is followed at all times. Ensuring that vehicle loads are safe and damage free, secured with the appropriate restraints as per company procedures/ Safe Systems of Work.

·To drive defensively and fuel efficiently at all times.

·Ensure all delivery and collection notes and paperwork are correct

·Provide accurate paperwork relevant to debriefing of allocated jobs.

·Comply with all EU drivers’ hours/ tachograph / WTD regulations and vehicle defect reporting is adhered to.

·Provide exceptional standard of service to our customers.

·To adopt a proactive approach to all issues concerns and improvements are communicated to all parties in a timely manner

·To carry out any other reasonable request as detailed by the Transport Management Team.

·Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles and wear Uniform and any PPE provided

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge skills and experience required.

·Current and valid LGV Licence with no more than 6 points (current)

·Minimum of 2 year experience

·An understanding of the law relating to drivers hour regulations and Tachograph law is essential; as it the ability to work with minimum supervision

·Good communication and organisation skills

·Current working digi-tacho card
